The technical team of actor Aegan’s upcoming film, Haiku, has undergone a notable change. Acclaimed music director Siddhu Kumar has officially boarded the project as the new music composer. He replaces Vijay Bulganin, who was initially attached to score the film’s music during its initial announcement phase.
Siddhu Kumar is widely recognized in the Tamil film industry for his soulful melodies and chart-topping soundtracks in films like Sivappu Manjal Pachai, Aaromaley, and the 2023 hit Joe. Interestingly, this project marks a creative reunion for the composer and lead actor Aegan, who previously played a prominent role in Joe, a film highly celebrated for its musical score.
A Youthful Romantic Entertainer
Directed by Yuvaraj Chinnasamy—popularly known for helming the hit digital series Aaha Kalyanam—Haiku is shaping up to be a breezy, lighthearted romantic drama. The film stars Aegan, fresh off his performance in Kozhipannai Chelladurai, alongside Sridevi Apalla, who earned critical acclaim for her performance in Court – State vs. A Nobody. The film also features Minnal Murali actress Femina George in a pivotal supporting role.
The initial promotional material positions the movie as a youthful love story, featuring the lead pair sharing a candid moment across stadium gallery seats. While the core plot details remain under wraps, the addition of Siddhu Kumar adds significant musical weight to the romance-driven narrative.
Production and Technical Lineup
Haiku is being produced on a notable scale by Dr. D. Arulanandhu and Mathewo Arulanandhu under the prominent Vision Cinema House banner, with Srinivas Niranjan serving as the co-producer. This project marks Aegan’s third consecutive collaboration with the production house following his roles in Joe (2023) and Kozhipannai Chelladurai (2024).
On the technical front, the screenplay has been jointly penned by director Yuvaraj Chinnasamy and Hariharan Ram. The visuals are captured by cinematographer Priyesh Gurusamy, while Sakthi Pranesh handles the editing responsibilities. With production moving forward at a steady pace, the film is expected to announce its teaser and audio launch schedule soon.
