Love & War: Dharma Productions, Zee Studios and Pen Marudhar Eye Theatrical Rights

Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal, is reportedly attracting interest from several major players for its theatrical distribution rights. The highly anticipated period romantic drama is scheduled to arrive in theatres next year.

Love-War

According to the latest reports, Dharma Productions, Zee Studios and Pen Marudhar are among the companies competing for the film’s theatrical distribution rights. The offers are said to be in the range of Rs. 175–180 crore, while the makers are reportedly looking for a deal closer to Rs. 215 crore.

Love & War Non-Theatrical Deals

The film has reportedly already generated substantial revenue through its non-theatrical agreements. Netflix is said to have acquired the post-theatrical streaming rights for around Rs. 130 crore. The music and satellite rights are reportedly valued at another Rs. 70–80 crore.

These reported deals mean the film has already secured a significant portion of its revenue before the theatrical distribution agreement is finalised. The theatrical rights remain a key component of the film’s overall business, particularly given the makers’ reported asking price.

Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal Lead Love & War

Love & War brings Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal together in a film directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The project marks another collaboration between Bhansali and Ranbir after Saawariya, while Alia Bhatt previously worked with the filmmaker on Gangubai Kathiawadi.

The film is scheduled to release in theatres on January 21, 2027. It is set to release in Hindi, Telugu and Tamil. With the theatrical distribution deal yet to be finalised, the final value of the agreement will be closely watched as the film moves closer to its release.
