The makers of Megastar Chiranjeevi’s highly anticipated 158th film, tentatively titled Mega 158, have officially welcomed talented Malayalam actress Anaswara Rajan on board. The exciting announcement was made by the production house, KVN Productions, on Thursday, May 21, 2026, coinciding with the movie’s grand launch event in Hyderabad.
A “new wave of charm” joins the Mega storm
Welcoming the actress to the team, the makers took to social media to share their excitement. “A new wave of charm joins the MEGA storm. Welcoming the lovely #AnaswaraRajan to the world of #Mega158,” the production house wrote, officially introducing her to the cast.
The announcement marks a major career milestone for Anaswara, landing her a prominent role in a massive Telugu project alongside one of Indian cinema’s biggest superstars. While details about her character have been kept under wraps, reports suggest that she will be playing a highly crucial and emotionally driven role in the film, with some sources indicating she will portray Chiranjeevi’s daughter. Anaswara also graced the film’s grand pooja ceremony at Annapurna Studios, sharing the stage with Chiranjeevi, director Bobby Kolli, and chief guest Pawan Kalyan.
Anaswara Rajan’s impressive acting journey
For Telugu audiences who may be experiencing her work for the first time, Anaswara has already established a solid reputation as a gifted performer in Malayalam cinema. Born in Kerala in 2002, she began her acting journey as a child artist in the 2017 Malayalam film Udaharanam Sujatha.
She rose to widespread fame with the popular coming-of-age comedy-drama Thanneer Mathan Dinangal (2019) and went on to deliver natural performances in films like Super Sharanya and Pranaya Vilasam. Her most critically acclaimed performance came in the 2023 legal drama Neru, where she played a visually challenged sculptor alongside Malayalam superstar Mohanlal. Her performance in the film earned her major awards and critical praise across the South Indian film industries. She has also worked in Tamil and Hindi projects, including With Love, Raangi and Yaariyan 2.
What to expect from Mega 158
Mega 158 reunites Chiranjeevi with director Bobby Kolli after their massive 2023 Sankranti blockubster Waltair Veerayya. Director Bobby Kolli recently promised fans that the film will go beyond the standard mass entertainer, aiming to showcase both the larger-than-life “Megastar” star power and the highly versatile “actor” in Chiranjeevi that generations of audiences have admired.
Backed by Venkat K Narayana under KVN Productions, the film boasts a stellar technical crew. Musical maestro S. Thaman has been roped in to compose the songs and background score, while Vijay Karthik Kannan of Jailer fame will handle the cinematography. Antony Ruben will serve as the editor, and Avinash Kolla will manage the production design.
