Janhvi Kapoor : “RRR, Ram Charan, and NTR Are The Reference Point For Indians Abroad”

The global impact of SS Rajamouli’s magnum opus RRR is still going strong, and Bollywood actress Janhvi Kapoor has shared a firsthand account of just how massive the film’s international footprint truly is.

During a recent promotional interaction for her upcoming Tollywood sports drama Peddi, Janhvi opened up about her international travels and revealed an interesting anecdote from US airport customs. The actress highlighted how global audiences—and even immigration officials—now instantly connect Indian cinema with the names of Mega Power Star Ram Charan and Man of Masses Jr NTR.

Speaking about her recent experience, Janhvi said:

“I was just in America recently, and I have to tell everyone that the reference point for Indians right now is you. Even at immigration, they ask, ‘Are you an actor?’ and I say, ‘Yes, I am an actor.’ Then they go like, ‘Oh yes, RRR… Ram Charan NTR,’ and I’m like, ‘Sure!’”

Janhvi’s statement underscores how RRR has fundamentally elevated the global perception of Indian cinema. Interestingly, Janhvi herself shares a unique connection with both the RRR stalwarts. After making her Telugu debut opposite Jr NTR in Devara, she is now sharing the screen with Ram Charan in Peddi, directed by Buchi Babu Sana.

As Peddi gears up for its highly anticipated theatrical release on June 4, 2026, the anticipation among fans to see the fresh pairing of Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor is at an all-time high.
