Young Tollywood actors Shree Nandu and Avika Gor’s collaborative psychological romantic thriller, Ugly Story, has made its way to the digital space. Following its theatrical release last month, the movie has locked its digital partner and is officially available for home viewing. Leading regional streaming platform Aha Video has secured the digital rights and has begun streaming the film.
The digital premiere comes exactly 14 days after the film’s theatrical debut on May 22, 2026. This swift two-week window follows a recent trend in regional cinema where mid-budget features swiftly transition to OTT platforms post-theatrical runs. To provide a broader reach to South Indian digital audiences, Aha is streaming the film in its original Telugu language alongside a Tamil dubbed version.
The Plot: A Narrative of Obsession
Directed by debutant Pranava Swaroop, Ugly Story explores the dark aspects of toxic relationships, manipulation, and intense possessiveness. The narrative follows Neha (Avika Gor), an orphan raised under the care of her maternal uncle (Shivaji Raja). Over the years, her cousin Karthik (Shree Nandu) develops a deep, unstable obsession with her, displaying severe agitation whenever she interacts with anyone else.
However, Neha is in love with her childhood friend Gautam (played by Raviteja Mahadasyam). Due to unavoidable family circumstances and compounding pressures, Neha is ultimately forced to marry Karthik. The core of the film chronicles the subsequent emotional warfare, tracking how Karthik’s deeply possessiveness escalates into toxic control and how Neha navigates the resulting psychological trauma.
